Keeping in Touch
Having a professional website can make a small business look bigger than it actually is. The next step is to hang on to your visitors and one of the easiest ways to do that is by having a newsletter. Your newsletter can be occasional or regular but if you make it too frequent you can alienate your subscribers. Monthly is probably the optimum.
So what should your newsletter be about? There are some obvious choices:
-
Pointing out new website content.
-
Announcing a special offer or new service or product.
-
Giving some advice or tip.
Of course it could be all of the above.
The next thing is to have a form on your website so that visitors can subscribe to the newsletter. It is OK to add your recent business contacts to the list.
You really must use a service to manage subscriptions and send the newsletter on your behalf. Otherwise you risk the newsletter being treated as spam. This needn’t be expensive and is certainly far less expensive than using conventional mail.
There are services that will write the newsletter for you but my feeling is that your own voice is probably best.
If you don’t want to be involved with the mechanics we can help with all stages of setting up and maintaining a newsletter.
